Ben and I visited Silver Springs Farm for the second year in a row as part of Onondaga County Farm Fest and this year I decided to bring my camera. Silver Springs is a dairy farm so they basically do exactly what is sounds like, they run and operate a dairy farm complete with adorable dairy cows, the occasional barn kitty, and green pastures. They actually supply a huge source of milk to the Byrne Dairy, so if you've ever tried a delicious #cookiewich some of that milk comes right from the cows at Silver Spring.
They have been around since 1914 and from what I can tell are very serious about their cows, as they hold over 50 Premier Breeder banners from New York state fair spanning from our first in 1938. They are a Jersey cow farm so only raise and breed Jersey cows, which a very popular dairy farm breed as they produce higher butterfat content in their milk. All I can say is I literally wanted to take every cow I met home with me, they were so cute and cuddly and it was so fun getting to hang with them. It was a perfect fall day and I really enjoyed my time at the farm, I felt really welcomed by everyone I met there and I can't wait to go back again. If you're in the area, they are well worth a visit! #shoplocal
